Brian Smith is an award-winning director, producer, screenwriter, and the Founder and CEO of Rose 13 Creative. Specializing in narrative media storytelling with a musical focus, Brian has more than thirty years of credits in the entertainment industry, spanning work in feature films, music videos, commercials, themed entertainment, and live experiences. From theme parks and world expos to museums and immersive experiences, Brian is proud to have played central roles in the creation of iconic themed attractions and guest destinations around the world.
Brian is a proud member of the Writers Guild of America (WGA), the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) and the Themed Entertainment Association (TEA), as well as a multiple Thea Award winner for specialty attraction projects. He has guided numerous location-based projects from initial concept through successful on-site integration and programming, for destinations and clients in the USA, China, and around the world. Brian’s themed entertainment work includes producing multimedia pavilion shows at the 2010 and 2025 World Expos, the Power of Rock experience at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, and Disneyland Park’s Wondrous Journeys nighttime spectacular.
Prior to discovering the world of location-based entertainment, Brian produced chart-topping music videos for Shakira, Ice Cube, Ricky Martin, DMX, Billy Ray Cyrus, and Sublime, and directed critically acclaimed videos for artists including Monster Magnet and Myra. Highlights of Brian’s feature film career include directing the independent dark comedy Remembering Phil (2008) and producing more than a dozen other independent features.
